SUNGLASS STANDARDS.
Regulatory bodies worldwide have in recent years either introduced or amended
and upgraded standards for sunglasses. VMD, as a significant exporter and
charter member of the New Zealand Sunglass Association ensures that all its
products pass or exceed standards worldwide.
Every new lens is sent to either of the following legally accredited testing
laboratories.
Unisearch Optics and Radiometry Laboratory School of Optometry, Sydney,
Australia.
Din Certco Labaratories, Pforzheim, Germany.
Uniservices The University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
VMD ranges are certified to pass the following standards.
EN1836 1997 European Common Market (EEC)
ASANSI Z80.3 1996 USA
AS/NZS 1067: 2006 (Lens Category 3. Sunglasses, High sunglass reduction. Good
UV protection)
